Terms of Service
Last updated: May 12, 2026
These Terms govern your use of TableSplit (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What TableSplit is
TableSplit is a coordination tool that helps an event host invite friends or coworkers to share the cost of a charity event table. The Service does not process payments and does not represent any charity.
2. No payment processing
TableSplit does not collect, hold, transmit, or refund money.Hosts and participants settle payment for tables directly with each other or with the charity. Any “settled-up” indicator within the Service is for the host's own bookkeeping and is not a financial transaction.
3. No charity verification
Charity names entered by hosts are not verified by TableSplit. TableSplit does not check charities' tax status, registration, or legitimacy. Before sending money, verify the charity yourself — check its official website, look it up in the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search, or contact the charity directly.
4. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree to provide truthful information and to keep your sign-in credentials secure. You may sign in with an email magic link or with a Google account. If you sign in with Google using the same email address as an existing TableSplit account, the two sign-in methods are linked to the same account; either method will get you in.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Misrepresent a charity, including creating tables for charities you have no connection to.
- Harass, threaten, or send unwanted bulk messages through links you share from the Service.
- Interfere with the Service's normal operation, including attempting to bypass authentication or scrape data.
- Upload unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or hateful content in any field (charity name, event name, host notes, comments, etc.).
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (charity details, event details, table notes, comments). You grant TableSplit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and transmit that content for the purpose of operating the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except as needed for backups, audit trails, or to keep the Service coherent for other users (for example, a table you cancel may remain visible to participants who claimed seats on it).
7. Copyright complaints (DMCA)
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) the URL of the allegedly infringing content; (c) your contact information; (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the rights-holder or authorized to act on their behalf; and (f) your physical or electronic signature.
8. Intellectual property
The Service's name, look-and-feel, software, and original text are owned by the operator of TableSplit. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute these without permission. “TableSplit” is a common-law trademark in use by the operator; please don't use it to identify another product or service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The operator does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
11. Limitation of liability

The operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost expected donations or disputes between hosts, participants, and charities arising from coordination on the Service.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
13. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. We may suspend or end accounts that violate these Terms or harm other users.
14. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Jackson County, Missouri, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
